On Scotland's failing Education System

"Angela Constance,a Minister so out of her depth the coastguard should have been called out"

SNP MSP's .... no talent other than pursing Independence which would be the ruination of Scotland.

See anything that might suggest this person is a hapless waste of space ?

"If the SNP was being marked on its handling of Scottish education over the last decade, it wouldn’t get an F — it would get expelled"

The numbers that show the SNP’s failure on education
Measring the course of the current SNP government’s tenure alone, which began in 2007, the number of such teachers has fallen by 4,285.
Little wonder that the SNP is under such pressure to explain how, as a party supposedly committed to education as a route to social mobility, it could be presiding over such a dreadful record.

Minister for gobbledegook: SNP minister ridiculed for 'jargon and guff' in press release on improving standards of English

  • Angela Constance promised to be 'clear' at least eight times in speech
  • Admitted the SNP had not done enough to improve failing schools
  • Said 'nothing is off the table' and teachers 'at that table' will be qualified
  • Garbled press release was rewritten by officials after being mocked online

  • It was supposed to be a frank admission that standards of reading and writing in schools were not good enough.
But Scotland's education minister has been mocked for a press release and speech packed with 'jargon and guff' that was 'practically unreadable'.

Scottish Conservative leader Ruth Davidson wrote on Twitter: 'The Scottish Government sets out its stall to improve education. With a press release that's practically unreadable.'

Scottish Conservative education spokeswoman Mary Scanlon said: 'The irony of putting out a press release on literacy which is practically unreadable will be lost on no one.
'We need a renewed focus on the ability to read and write properly. Judging from this press release, it appears that task starts with the Education Secretary herself.'
Labour MSP Neil Findlay urged his Twitter followers to try reading the press release, which he said was 'like a word puzzle'.
Labour general election candidate Mary Galbraith branded it 'jargon and guff', adding: 'What do English teachers say about this press release and speech? Not setting a good example.'

How many Senior Politician's would you expect to be referring to notes on their knee and not even realise they were on a Live TV show until it was explained to them, a rank amateur in the extreme.
